As far back as Ancient times various pigments were described as ‘Spanish’ because this is where they were mined, processed and traded from. I have adopted the name for this very pale warm white as it evokes what comes to mind for many of us – the whitewashed houses of the Mediterranean coast. Our natural process creates this bright white with the clarity and slight yellow ochre tone of natural chalk which responds to light in a way which synthetic paints cannot recreate.
Excellent customer service! Emma was so incredibly helpful with her colour consultancy advice and always very quick at getting back to all my queries. I love the finished result from using Lilac Pink on the walls and Spanish White on the ceiling. Would recommend in a heartbeat

When we moved into our cottage, we wanted to start by decorating our son’s room. The previous owner had painted the room white which felt stark and uninviting. I contacted the team at Edward Bulmer for advice on which colours to choose for this north facing room and they were incredibly helpful, on numerous occasions! …
It sounds silly, but it’s difficult to find a great white, just because the choice is endless, but for us Silver White, with its touch of grey is extremely versatile.
When I arrived on site my client presented me with three tins of Edward Bulmer Natural Paint. Having never even heard of this product I was a bit dubious about the quality. However after painting for just a short while I realised that this product is pretty damn good. The paint is a good consistency, flows well with the …
We used Edward Bulmer’s Natural Paint throughout our family home when we took it over from my husband’s parents. It was always a much loved home and although we have redecorated it from top to bottom the subtle colours give it a timeless air and have united new rooms that we have added with the old Jacobean features of …
First, I wanted to say how well all your recommendations are looking so far and that the decorator loves the paints. Apparently they’re a joy to use and even his wife notices how much nicer he smells using them!

Please check our practical painting advice - if you are painting onto a very absorbent surface, you may need more paint, and for best results, you may need to prime your surfaces.
